About Robo Erectus

Robo Erectus, Since 1996

The Robo Erectus Humanoid Robotics research group started developing Robo Erectus Humanoid Soccer Robot (RE Humanoid) since 1996.

The RE family includes:
RE Junior (40-60 cm)
RE Teen (100-120cm)
RE Senior (160cm).

Our venture into AI for humanoid robots began in 1998, when we pioneered the use of Reinforcement Learning (RL) for bipedal walking robots.

This ground-breaking approach has become a fundamental element in advancing our RE family of humanoid soccer robots.

Our early work on Reinforcement Learning for Humanoid Robots has been recognized and presented at premier conferences and journals in the field, including:

Our early research on Reinforcement Learning for Humanoid Robots has significantly influenced our ongoing development in AI-powered humanoid robotics.

The Robo Erectus Humanoid Soccer Robot has also been a trailblazer in the RoboCup Humanoid League, which began at RoboCup 2002 in Fukuoka.
